Drifter Sweater: Inside an Icon

Cables to crosshatch. Fit to fabric. Our Drifter sweater is a classic. Step inside and take a closer look.

Our Drifter sweater has been a staple on land and at sea since as long as we can remember. Not to brag (okay, maybe a little), but it’s a style that transcend trends. It’s timeless. It’s… a classic.

We added the iconic cables along the way, but the construction is the same now as when we first introduced it. This is a sweater that you won’t just have for a little while, but for years to come.

We dismantled one of our sweaters piece by piece to show you exactly what makes it so great. That way you don’t have to take our word for it. You can see for yourself…

Drifter Sweater Revealed

The crewneck. Its tubular linked neck gives a snug fit.
The yarn. Combed cotton holds color better and feels smooth.
The fit. It has a raglan-like sleeve so it’s not bulky in the shoulders and doesn’t bump at hemlines.
The weight. It’s a midweight fabric that feels substantial, but not heavy.
The shape. Jersey knit holds shape better, longer.

I love the Drifter cable and have worn them since they were first introduced. I buy at least one every year. They wash well, dry nicely when laid flat, never pill, stretch out of shape, or bag at the cuffs and hem. The color remains true for years. A good investment you will have forever.
