How to Create a Lemon Jar Centerpiece

From our series "How to Set Up for an Outdoor Summer Dinner Party."

This is one part of our four part series in which we show you how to set up for an outdoor dinner party. See the rest of the videos below.

Sure, centerpieces aren’t a deal breaker, but they’re just… nice. We only get the warm weather a few months out of the year here in Wisconsin, so we show it any chance we get. A floral centerpiece is a simple way to add joie de vivre to your table, but anyone can throw a few flowers in a cup. So it won’t kill you to take the extra minute and spice it up with our lemon jar centerpiece. (Unless you’re allergic to lemons….)

Watch the how-to and see the instructions below.

You’ll need:
Large Mason jar
3-4 lemons
Small bouquet of flowers

While it seems silly, the order is important. So follow carefully.
1. Trim flowers.
2. Slice lemons between ¼ and ½ inch thick.
3. Add water.
4. Arrange flowers.
5. Add and arrange lemons. Done!
